Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: UNO - Malik’s Peace Efforts. DESCRIPTION: A capacity crowd saw the end of Russia’s boycott of the United Nations, as Secretary Trygve Lie greeted Mr Malik, now returning to take his turn as Security Council President. SHOTLIST: KS. Library - UNO Emblem - CU. Interior elevated GV of sitting. Trygve Lie shakes hands with Mr Malik as he takes his seat as President. Warren Austin takes his seat. CU Dr Tsiang (Chinese delegates - Nationalist). Malik addresses Council in Russian. Austin asks Malik to announce correct vote as shown by hands. Malik gets annoyed. Dr Tsiang makes hot retort and refers to Malik as ignorant.
