Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Holiday Stories. DESCRIPTION: A mechanical elephant, which can move at 27 mph has been built in an Essex village. At Lake Sebago in Maine, USA, they’ve been trying out a new sailing skiff. Mr Karl Hassler of Ludwigshaven has himself built an amphibious tricycle on which he aims to cross the Channel. SHOTLIST: Mechanical Elephant - KS. CU elephant head. CU mechanical feet without "skin on" walking mix to same with "skin on". Various shots of same at Margate taking children for rides, all angles. Children look at same with amazement. Cut-in of dog (Alsatian) barking at same. Elephant out of camera. Sailing Skiffs - At Lake Sebago, Maine. KS. Girls carry skiffs down beach to sea. Riding on same in water, various shots of same, girls capsizing them & showing how easy it is to right them. Skiffs in line ahead pass camera. Amphibious Bicycle - KS German rides through streets of Ludwigshaven, on strange looking amphibious bicycle. Enters water & pedals same through water, several shots.
