Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Iron Duke Wins City & Suburban. DESCRIPTION: The second of the two main races in the Epsom Spring Meeting, the City and Suburban proved to be a thriller and the result was decided by a photo-finish. It was won by Iron Duke ridden by E Britt and owned by Mr Gibson. SHOTLIST: KS. Horse parades past camera. GVs & crowds. Parade ring, horses parade past camera, jockeys mounting. GV of start - twelve runners. Cut-in starter’s foot pressing on starters gate. LS (36" lense) of start & panning with horses. Cut to Wyand’s into (foreshortened) camera shot. Back to Fisher 36" lense shot, panning with horses. Elevated GV horses rounding Tattenham Corner. Fisher - 36" up straight almost to winning post. Horses dashing past winning post, won by "Iron Duke" with "Roc du Diable" second in photo finish. Photo finish being placed up on stand.
