MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Lord Mountbatten Home. DESCRIPTION: Lord and Lady Mountbatten leave Government House of Delhi for the last time and make a triumphal procession to the airport. They arrive back at Northolt to a welcome by family and officials. SHOTLIST: CUT STORY: KS MS Governor General’s bodyguard paraded. Interior GV banquet in progress. MS Union Jack covering pieces of gold plate is then pulled back exposing same. CU gold plate. MS gold plate. FADE Mr Rajagopalacharya - New Governor General. MS passing camera. Interior Lord Mountbatten shakes hands with him. Interior Rajagopalacharya walks towards throne & sits down. MS seated MIX to Lord Mountbatten (naval uniform) and Lady Mountbatten down steps of Government House. Elevated shot huge crowds, shows Mountbatten and Pamela walking through same. Mountbattens in carriage through huge crowds escorted by Bengal Lancers. At airport, Mountbatten shakes hand with ministers and Pandit Nehru. MS York plane. AT NORTHOLT - York plane taxies across aerodrome. Lady Mountbatten alights, kisses her daughter Lady Brabourne, Lord Mountbatten also kisses her, shakes hands with Duke of Edinburgh. Group shot of party which includes Attlee. Cut-in cameramen behind sound camera. Lord Louis speaking on India. SCU of him.
