- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Final Test Match. DESCRIPTION: England and Australia meet for the last Victory Test at Old Trafford, Manchester. England passed the Australian first innings total and were set for victory when rain intervened. When play was resumed Cristofani knocked up 110 for Australia but England managed to win with six wickets in hand. SHOTLIST: CUT STORY: KS Team coming out to field (England). Group shot of English team. Group shot of Australian team. Elevated shot of Army vehicles around Old Trafford, parked. People climb on same to watch cricket. Various shots of Australia batting. CU various types of Lancashire people watching play, chewing, drinking, eating etc. Rain starts, teams rush for shelter, crowds put raincoats on etc. SCU fellow in sou’wester and cape, others hold coats over their heads. Play resumed. Cristofani batting, scores 100, Philipson bowling. Cristofani not out 110, walks off pitch at end of innings, people applaud as he enters pavilion. England batting, win game, stumps drawn, and team walk off through crowd.
