Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Attack on Sumatra. DESCRIPTION: A strong force from the Eastern Fleet carried out a surprise attack on Sabang in Sumatra. American, French and Dutch ships also took part in the raid which inflicted great damage. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Various shots of battleships, cruisers, destroyers under way. Library - CU Somerville (Admiral). More shots of fleet. Elevated shots of Corsairs on deck of aircraft carrier, several Corsairs take off, out of camera. LS of plane in formation. LS of smoke rising from island. Various aerial shots (stills) of fires burning on Sabang, Sumatra, ships burning. Installations on fire.
