MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Holidays at Home. DESCRIPTION: With the beaches covered in barbed wire people sort attractions closer to home. The local authorities provided some of the entertainment that used to be found in the seaside towns. SHOTLIST: This included special Cut-in sequence of a suburban dweller, who takes his holidays at home. He is seen in bed smoking, after having had his breakfast brought up to him by his wife. He intends to do quite a lot of work to the garden and to the home in general, but his wife runs all the errands and does all the work, while he does nothing. Other shots were of dancing, boating etc. Close ups of a baby. Soft Ball In Hyde Park - CARD 42668 This is all part of the ‘Holidays At Home’ Baseball & Cricket. Shots of US troops playing with a soft ball and children joining in with them.
