MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Cricket at Lord’s. DESCRIPTION: CRICKET - At Lord’s thousands turned out to watch a combined Middlesex/Essex side play Kent/Surrey. SHOTLIST: The Cricket at Lord’s, was between Middlesex and Essex, v Kent and Surrey. There are general shots of the crowd, inside and outside the grounds, and shots of the play in progress, showing Allen bowling to Fishlock. Nicholls bowling to Ames, Parker and Holmes. There are also shots of Edrich bowling. Prior to the game there is a close-up of these well-known players in uniform. Major Holmes, Surrey, Sergeant Bedser, Surrey. Squadron Leader Edrich, Middlesex. Flight Lt Ames, Kent. There is also a close-up of Major Allen and Major Holmes tossing up the coin. Other well-known players covered by Harris, were Gover, Peter Smith, Sergeant Pierpoint and Sergeant Todd. Jack Ramsden (cameraman) is seen talking to two American servicemen.
