- Summary
- COI synopsis: Scientists and engineers are, today, exploring the outer reaches of heat and cold: how they can create, control and, when necessary, prevent either and how this will effect today’s society. Cold can kill. It extracts heat from the very core of the body. But a blanket, that’s not unlike a thermos flask could counteract this. Aluminium foil, embedded in it, reflects the body’s heat; still bubbles of air incorporated in it prevents heat loss from convection and it is non-absorbent, so it’s unaffected by water.
