Summary

COI synopsis: In an ideal world, all medical problems would be preventable. As yet, that hasn’t been achieved; but medicine and its associated technology is now offering the less fortunate amongst us a new freedom and independence - a life of their own. High frequency deafness sufferers never hear the shrill of a kettle, the jangle of keys in a lock, the shattering of broken glass. But, a hearing aid which electronically juggles patterns of certain sounds, introduces them to a different world.
