Summary
British Pathe synopsis: "A City that builds itself up in a season and as silently fades away for the winter - leaving just memories for the weekenders of the happy times spent there." Panning shot of a river. M/S of a camping ground. Lots of tents. High angle shot of a small group of tents with lots of holidaymakers standing around listening to a man playing the accordion. Various shots of holidaymakers, most of the men wearing just shorts, the women swimsuits. Various shots of what look like mobile homes - some have plants growing in their gardens. Panning shot of a little chalet with a tent on the side. "No palatial places of amusement here, they just have to make their own fun, from the kittens to the Camp King." M/S of a cat and a kitten on a doorstep. M/S of a sign in German which reads: "Radfahrer absteigen Abholzen." Various other signs are seen - all in German. One is in the shape of a Red Indian which reads: "Post fur Indianer Waldchen" another reads "Einwohner Melde-Amt". Other signs probably represent the names the holidaymakers have given their chalets or tents. "And everybody’s happy." Nice shot of the holidaymakers dancing in the open air to a wind up gramophone. High angle shot of crowd of dancers - some dance in their swimsuits.
