Summary
NoS Summary - A Chelsea Pensioner has his image moulded into a small statuette.
British Pathe synopsis: "It has been left almost entirely to Eve to revive the ancient form of modelled Chelsea pottery." M/S of three women making small clay statuettes. A Chelsea Pensioner stands beside them. Closer view of one of the statuettes being moulded. C/U of the Chelsea Pensioner with his large white beard (the women are making statues of him). C/U of one of the women (she wears a white artist’s smock) as she moulds some detail on the statue. The statues are placed in the kiln. "After the oven has done its job, we are ready for painting." The statues are taken out. C/U of one being painted. "Incidentally, our 86-year-old model remarked that most young ladies painted quite a lot nowadays. (What did he mean, girls)" C/U of Pensioner looking at one of the statues. C/U of the statue. C/U of three other statuettes - a young girl and two dogs.
