Summary
British Pathe synopsis: M/S of two girls unfolding a piece of fabric. It is a rug making kit. C/U of a rug needle. Wool is threaded through the needle. We then see a C/U of the woman punching the needle through the hessian fabric. C/U of the other side of the fabric showing the wool loops on the other side. The needle is punched through from the other side so we can see how the loops are made. The loops are then cut with large scissors. Rug backing is affixed by ironing. One of the women holds out a piece of backing. They are possibly mother and daughter. The mother irons. She then lifts up the rug and shows it to camera. "And here are some samples of this quick and useful home craft." The mother unrolls a ready made carpet, other examples of the craft are held up to the camera. C/U of one of the rugs. End title reads: "If you would like further details, free of charge, send postcard to: - Editor, Eve’s Film Review, 103 Wardour Street, London W1. "Service with the Cinema."
