Summary
NoS Summary - Chorus girls have a game of baseball with help from Ernest Truex.
British Pathe synopsis: "Filmed at Stamford Bridge". The girls sit on the pitch and one of the girl holds onto her ankles then rolls around the pitch, rolling first onto her back then onto her legs. She then does a kind of back flip - very acrobatic. "And Ernest Truex thinks so, too!" reads an intertitle. He has a go at the rolling technique - he fails. "These three athletic young Adam Sisters from the "Five O’Clock Girl" have their own ideas on training." One girl holds another’s legs in a "wheelbarrow" - another girl sits on the wheelbarrow’s legs as she crawls along. The girls throw each other around a bit on the pitch. One girl picks up another two and spins them around. The girls all link arms and walk along in unison - they all wear baseball caps and other baseball gear. "Under Ernest’s guiding hand, Peggy Beaty is hoping to rival Babe Ruth. (The Catcher is Jean Colin.)" The girls are given instruction on how to hit the ball - the coach waves the bat around for them. We see the girls have a go. Various girls have a go at catching and hitting the ball and fielding. Miss Adams is shown the technique for diving at home base. Miss Adams shows her way of doing it - a cartwheel and backwards roll in slow motion. The coach helps her up. "And no game is complete without the "Rooters". The camera pans across the cheering girls and the coach. High angle shot of a game in progress.
