MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Flying Timber. DESCRIPTION: A British company is developing a new technique to help the Lumbermen of Canada - a balloon to fly the timber from the forests. SHOTLIST: MS balloon filled with helium gas. MLS ditto. CU helium gas cylinders. CU balloon inflating. CU Mr Leslie Speed helping to fill balloon. MS crew holding onto balloon cloth and ropes. Zoom out to balloon being inflated. CU Leslie Speed checking rope connections. Pan to label Airborne LB/1, 150,000 cf Southend-on-Sea, England. Pan down as tree is cut near mountain top. LAS balloon flying overhead. GV ditto. MS cable on winch turns, pan to driver in cab. LAS pulleys connected to balloon. GV balloon dragged through forest. CU winch operator in cab. LS tree dragged through forest. GV log lifted into air. GV balloon in air. GV log lowered towards ground. LS log dragged through forest. CU pulleys on front of winch. LS log dragged through forest.
