- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Landing on the Beam. DESCRIPTION: This giant aerial is part of the latest blind landing system to be devised. It guides a plane from approach to actual touch-down, and all along the runway. The aerial sends out a powerful radio beam and as the aircraft approaches the beam is picked up by the automatic pilot. A dial indicates the angle of approach and brings the plane down along the centre of the runway. It’s all completely automatic. SHOTLIST: Key scene. Aerial (2 shots). CU same. CU detail of aerial.
