- Summary
- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Power Station Fish!. DESCRIPTION: Who’d have thought that power stations would be the place to find any sort of fish, let alone fish big enough or tasty enough to eat! At the Roosecote Power Station, Barrow-in-Furness, they’re keeping trout and carp in water reservoirs warmed by the station’s waste heat. This promotes all-the-year-round growth for fish, something which up to now hasn’t been commercially possible in Britain. And at the Board’s London Research Laboratory, they’re experimenting with perch and roach, with Tawes from Malaya, Tilapia from African waters and other species from the China Seas. SHOTLIST: Key scene. Roosecote Power Station (3 shots), inside power station (2 shots). CU water. AS power station. MS 2 men in a boat, man measuring fish (2 shots). CU fish in tank (2 shots). Man closes cabinet door (2 shots), fish in tank (3 shots). Man feeding fish (3 shots). Pan down man by pond. MS man looking into fish tank. CU fish.
