MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Close Finish in Cross-Country. DESCRIPTION: There were 5,000 runners literally treading on each other’s heels at this meeting in Belgium. The big race was the 6 miles, with such top runners as Belgium’s Gaston Roelants and Blackpool’s Gerry North. It turned out to be quite a tussle between these two, but in the end it was Roelants who got home first, with North only a second behind! SHOTLIST: Key scene.
