MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Power Boats Full Ahead (In Colour). DESCRIPTION: The International Offshore Powerboat Race is an exciting non-stop dash from Cowes to Torquay. Here are just a few of the contestants: Tramontana, a home entry; Sea Skiff I; Fairy Huntress, with test pilot Peter Twiss at the controls; Trident, a London entry; Thunderbolt I and Blue Moppie, the fancied American entry and holder of the Miami-New York record. Tramontana came home first in 5 hours, 19 minutes and 59 seconds. She covered the course at an average of 37 miles an hour, with former Spitfire pilots Jeffrey Quill and John Robertson at the controls. Blue Moppie was second, 16 minutes behind Tramontana.
