MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Premiers’ Vital Conference. DESCRIPTION: The Commonwealth Prime Ministers’ Conference opened at Marlborough House, London. The emergence of a new pattern in world affairs makes this a meeting of historic importance. Delegates included, Canada’s Mr Diefenbaker, Dr Eric Williams, Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Mr Holyoake from New Zealand, and Mr Edward Heath. Then, the Commonwealth Ministers gathered in the garden at Marlborough House. A popular figure was Sir Alexander Bustamente, Jamaica’s Premier. And Mr Nehru.
