- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: What a Driver!. DESCRIPTION: Among competitors for the British Empire Trophy race (52 laps, 150 miles) were Stirling Moss, Innes Ireland (Lotus), Tony Brooks (BRM) and John Surtees (Cooper). Due to start the big race was Juan Fangio, seen here looking over the new Ferguson car, which Jack Fairman was driving. Moss was soon in front, and, driving all the way with his clutch out of use, he won easily at an average of over 140. Surtees took second place, and Graham Hill (BRM) finished third.
