Summary

MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: England’s Great Win (9-3). DESCRIPTION: An invasion of Scots came pouring into Wembley on the day of the big match, and, among spectators was the injured Lawrie Leslie (replaced by Haffey in the Scots goal). About a hundred thousand were present, when Her Majesty the Queen took her place. Eric Caldow and Johnny Haynes led their teams onto the field, before the Scottish and English elevens were presented to Prince Philip. Then, Scotland kicked off, and almost at once the white-shirted Englishmen were on the attack. England’s nine - three victory was overwhelming and well deserved.
