- Summary
- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: France’s 3rd Bomb. DESCRIPTION: Our pictures show the preparations in progress at Reggane in the Sahara desert, before the explosion of France’s third atomic bomb. The experiment was called Operation Jerboa (after a small desert animal), and a considerable amount of military material was included in the test. Animals, including rats and mice, were also placed near the point of explosion. Then, at the Control room, General Thiry set off the bomb, after the count-down.
