Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Tommy Steele Married. DESCRIPTION: In St Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Soho Square, Tommy Steele married lovely Ann Donoughue, formerly a dancer at the Windmill Theatre. Stars among the guests included Harry Fowler, Jimmy Edwards, Andrew Ray, Alma Cogan, Eric Sykes, Hattie Jacques, Sidney Tafler and Sid James. Members of the family included Mr and Mrs Hicks, the bridegroom’s Mum and Dad, and brother Colin Hicks, who was best man. Pictures of the wedding ceremony were permitted, and we see Tommy and his bride making their vows before the altar. When the service was over, Mr and Mrs Tommy Steele had to face the fans. So many excited youngsters were there, that the police had quite a job! Then the reception at the Savoy, a rather splendid affair, where the traditional wedding groups were taken.
