Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Last Journey. DESCRIPTION: They were loading horses aboard the City of Waterford at Dublin, for export to the continent. Too old to work, most of them, the horses were making their last journey. Here, Irish demonstrators protested vehemently against this export business, and demanded its abolition. Members of the Press boarded the City of Waterford to see for themselves what the conditions aboard ship are like. Should these old horses suffer this fate? They should be allowed to take it easy in retirement at a place like this, at Boreham Wood, for example. SHOTLIST: CU name of ship ‘City of Waterford’. MS man loading horses. BS horse being hoisted.
