Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Muffling the Sound. DESCRIPTION: The problem of Jet-sound was tackled at London Airport. A member of the ground crew in a sound-proof booth received constant frequency signals, his hearing response being checked by an audiometer. After the hearing check, a new type of ear-muff was issued. It deadens jet noise, but permits normal conversation. SHOTLIST: Laboratory type (key). CU jet engines MS girl seated at audiometer with patient in booth. CU girl turns switch. MS patient in booth. CU girl turns dial. CU patient with ear muffs. CU patient presses buzzer.
