- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Down to the Sea. DESCRIPTION: In America, the largest nuclear submarine got a powerful send-off. 447 feet long, Triton is indeed a giant among underwater craft: five thousand, six hundred tons. She’s built with three decks, and is reported to be powered by two nuclear engines. Her speed is secret, but is said to be at-least thirty knots, on the surface, or submerged. . At Hamburg, another launch took place: the Gorch Fock, a three-masted Barque, is to take the place of the ill-fated Pamir, as a training ship for German Naval Cadets.
