- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Channel Swim. DESCRIPTION: Some thirty swimmers got ready for the start of the international Cross-Channel race, at Cap Gris Nez. A chilly prospect: to set off, in the dark, from France, with at least twenty-one miles to be covered. Only six competitors completed the journey this year. Greta Anderson (USA) finished some three and a half hours before anyone else: having set a new women’s record of eleven hours, one minute. SHOTLIST: MS swimmer. GV crowd. CU swimmer.
