Summary

MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Prime Ministers Arrive. DESCRIPTION: Australia’s Prime Minister landed at Tilbury on his way to the Commonwealth Premieres’ Conference. A newcomer to the Conference was Canada’s new Premier, Mr Diefenbaker, who arrived at London Airport with his wife. SHOTLIST: Shot of Australia’s Prime Minister (Mr Menzies) down gangplank of Arcadia at Tilbury. CU Arcadia sign. Mr Menzies down gangplank waving. Mr Menzies walking along the quayside. Gets into car and drives off. Slip pan to plane taxiing at London Airport (Heathrow). Mr Diefenbaker and Mrs Diefenbaker alight from plane and walk down steps. Press. Mr & Mrs Diefenbaker walk along. Mr Diefenbaker makes a speech.
