- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Mr Dancy Welcomed. DESCRIPTION: Home again with his father and mother in the Kentish village of Hook Green, Kenneth Dancy was still very much in the news, and Tunbridge Wells later honoured him with a Civic Reception. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Crowds outside cinema. Dancy carried on shoulders of two locals. Stands at door of home with mother & father. GV cottage where he lives. Above Hook Green. At Tunbridge Wells, procession through streets, Ritz cinema, crowds outside, Peggy Cochran driving car in which Dancy is seated. Mayor presents Dancy outside Town Hall with silver cigarette case. Dancy addresses the crowds, said it was only his job for which he was getting paid, & which anybody else would have done. Long Version. Cut story - Crowds outside Ritz cinema. Hook Green, Dancy carried shoulder high along country lane, GV of his cottage. Parents stand outside with Mate Dancy. Tunbridge Wells - Various shots procession through crowded streets, Peggy Cochran drives car. Crowds swarm all round. Dancy outside Town hall receives ovation, Mayor presents him with silver cigarette case. At his old school, Dancy receives £100 cheque from Skinners School. Also receives tankard from head schoolboy. Three cheers by boys.
