Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Festival & Fireworks. DESCRIPTION: The last night of this year’s Battersea Show was a cheerful one; Mr Morrison, too, was in an optimistic mood, but the official closing of the Pleasure Gardens by the Lord Mayor of London, Sir Denys Lowson, was clearly unpopular. Fireworks at Edenbridge in Kent were in quite another cause; here, once again, the people were celebrating the foiling of the Gunpowder Plot - and that’s a tradition going back nearly three and half centuries. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Set piece - firework. GV Battersea Festival Gardens. Crowds singing Down at the Ole Bull & Bush. Morrison on platform refers to the closing of the Festival. Crowds - cut-ins & types. Lord Mayor Lowson speaks officially closes Festival Gardens. Firework display, mix to Edenbridge. Various shots of set firework pieces going off. Procession through streets, including the guy. Various shots crowds around huge bonfire. Guy Fawkes set off, burning & fireworks coming from him in all directions.
