DESCRIPTION: While the Princess and the Duke were in Washington, they went to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the Arlington Cemetery, Virginia to pay tribute to the memory of all Americans who gave their lives in two world wars. The visit to Washington provided a full programme of engagements; one of the gayest and most sparkling of these was the dinner party, at which Princess Elizabeth was hostess.
