MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Taff and Bristol Channel Swimmers - No Film. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Crowds on banks. Crowds on banks, also Lord Mayor (Bevan) walks through park. GV start of women’s race. Vida Dallimore, No 29 in lead. GV of swimming. Start of the Men’s Race. GV swimming women just finishing, winner, Dallimore. Holt, Thow & Williams racing at finish, Holt wins. Lord Mayor presents Cup to Holt, then another to Vida Dallimore. 20th Century Fox van with crowds around same in park. Leaflets being handed out. People writing messages on same. . At Cold Knap, small crowd gather on beach, arrival by rowboat of Mr & Mrs Temme. Alderman Simmonds, Mayor of Barry, shakes hands with Mrs Temme. Mrs Temme waves & enters water. Followed by her husband. Start to swim. LS of her swimming, with three children in foreground on beach.
