- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Kansas Floods. DESCRIPTION: Colossal damage was caused in Kansas by the most disastrous floods in American history. Blazing oil storage tanks added more danger, the burning fuel spreading over the flood-water. Tens of thousands of people are homeless and damage is estimated at five hundred million dollars. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. GV flooded street. Aerial of Kansas City airport, shows tails of planes sticking out of flooded airfield. Various aerials of floods. Blazing oil storage tanks. Various flood scenes between Topeka & Kansas City. Swollen rivers rush through streets, sweeping all before them. Various shots horses, chickens, dogs etc., taking refuge on high spots. People evacuate homes, assisted by men. Lorry load of evacuees along in lorry.
