- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The Derby 1851 - the Derby 1951. DESCRIPTION: Movietone presents the Great Epsom Classic in every detail. The race was won by Arctic Prince. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Stills of 1851 Derby mixing to 1951 Derby scenes - GVs grandstand & downs. Elevated GV of crowds on Epsom Downs, SV grandstand crowds. GV horses. Arrivals of Queen & two Princesses. Arrival of Queen Mary, Duchess of Kent & Princess Royal. Paddock scenes, groups stand around talking. Royal Family walk towards paddock. Horses paraded, Nyangal, Arcot, Ki Ming, Arctic Prince, Zucchero, Stokes. CU Duchess of Kent. CU Princess Elizabeth. Le Vent. Horses led down past grandstand, trotting back. At start, horses almost ready, some being coaxed. The off, Fraise du Bois left as well as Zucchero. Swing shot of race in progress, round to Tattenham Corner. Mystery led for long time. Rounding Tattenham Corner, into straight. Arctic Prince coming through & takes lead, going on to win by six lengths. Cut-in crowds. Arctic Prince coming in, led by trainer, & also Mrs McGrath. CU head of horse to finish.
