MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Duchess Says Farewell to Her Regiment. DESCRIPTION: At Shorncliffe, the Duchess of Kent, as Colonel-in-Chief, recently carried out an inspection of the First Battalion, The Queen’s Own Royal West Kent Regiment; it was about to leave for Singapore and service in the Far East. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. MS Regiment on parade ground, & colours being lowered. Duchess of Kent alights from car, greeted by CO. Panning SCU Duchess passing camera. Several shots Duchess of Kent inspecting regiment - Queen’s Own Royal West Kent Regiment. Passing along ranks. Also inspecting old comrades of regiment, chats (silent) with one. Duchess of saluting platform, takes salute as regiment marches past, to their own regimental march. Duchess addresses them, also cut-ins of civilians watching. Duchess wishes them safe return etc. etc.
