- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Us Golfers Retain Ryder Cup. DESCRIPTION: At Ganton Golf Course, near Scarborough, the USA Ryder Cup Team retained the trophy, beating Great Britain 7 to 5. After the first day foursomes Britain led 3 to 1, but were unable to hold on to the lead in the second day singles. SHOTLIST: KS. GV course. MS American team holding their golf bags. SCU golf bags. Caddies wore numbers on their backs. GV crowds following games. Palmer (USA) drives off. Cut-in SCU Denis Compton watching. J Adams (GB) drives off. MS Dick Burton on the green. GV play.
