MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Duke of Edinburgh As a Cricketer. DESCRIPTION: At Bournemouth, the Duke of Edinburgh’s eleven, which included four England captains, played Hampshire. The match was in aid of the National Playing Fields Association. SHOTLIST: KS. GV cricket pitch. Duke of Edinburgh (in civies) toss up with EDR Eager - Hampshire Captain. Royal eleven onto field (Duke in whites). Cut-ins large crowds. Duke plays at slips. Duke bowling off breaks, bowls Dawson who is caught by Brown. Fielding team walk off after declaration. Duke watching his side bat. Denis Compton hits a six. Duke comes in to bat. Takes centre. Duke batting hits a four, also hits a ball which he doesn’t know where its going. Duke pats the bat.
