Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Royal Tour of Scotland. DESCRIPTION: Their Majesties and Princess Margaret visit the Highland Agricultural Show at Inverness and took a keen interest in many of the exhibits. The party travelled on to Edinburgh where they took up residence at Holyrood House. On the following morning they attend the service at St Giles Cathedral. SHOTLIST: KS Arrival of King, Queen and Princess Margaret at Inverness, King in uniform & kilt inspects Queen’s Own Cameronians Regiment. Royal car drives away. At Highland Agriculture Show, various shots of exhibits. King & Queen accompanied by Sir Donald Cameron of Lochiel inspect, looking at clothes, tweeds etc. Mrs Urquhart is introduced to Queen, former working spinning wheel. Royal party looking at all types of cattle. With the King is Lord Lovat. Parade representing agriculture through the ages. AT EDINBURGH - Royal party arrive at Waverley Station, Lord Provost (Mr Murray) present the keys of the city to the King. King inspect the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders, afterwards drive off to Holyrood House. Passing along Princes Street, crowds cheering. Royal party arrive at St Giles Cathedral, entering church, welcomed by Dr Charles L Warr. GV of cathedral. Royal Party leave by east door.
