Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Shedding the Load - Factory Problem. DESCRIPTION: Many industrial plants, such as Hoover, are taking action to shed the load on the National Grid at peak times. SHOTLIST: KS GV girls working at bench. Silhouette fire watcher on roof. Interior shots of factory, show men at machines. CU indicator, shows that fuel is approaching it’s peak. Fuel watcher presses button, girl at microphone, sees light come on, then talks into mike Electricity Warning - Shut Down at Once, cut-in of tannoy speaker. Cut-ins of operators switching off their machines, several shots, also shot of mechanic switching off large stamping machine. MS girls working at bench, component parts of vacuum cleaner (Hoover) going along overhead on wire conveyor, cut-in manager and engineer talking over a graph showing various power cuts. Men operator testing Hoovers. MS assembly line. Several shots of cases of finished article coming down chute and along conveyor belts to finish out of camera.
