MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Brussels Riots. DESCRIPTION: Ex-prisoners of war clashed with gendarmerie on the streets of Brussels, they had been demonstrating for special legal status and payment of the remaining half of a war bonus. SHOTLIST: KS Crowds marching through streets carrying banners. Ditto. Various shots of all angles, demonstrators displaying banners demanding remaining half of war bonus etc. Gendarmes, foot and mounted, try to keep crowds back from Parliament buildings. Demonstrators rush on and turn over car of Monsieur de Vleeschauwer, former Minister of Colonies. Catch light to car, elevated shots of car burning, also CU of same burning. Elevated shots of demonstration continuing in streets.
