This site presents a selective history of ‘the interaction between technology and the body’. It incorporates automata of the 16th-18th centuries, photographic and cinematographic records of bodies in motion from the late 19th and early 20th centuries (Marey, Muybridge), and contemporary examples of ways in which science is mapping the outer and inner workings of the body, including the Visible Human Project. Previously available at: http://access.tucson.org/~michael/Intro.html, this site is no longer active, but it can be traced by entering the address in the Wayback Machine.

The RGO is a database of over 650 film, television, radio and related documentation collections and artefacts in the United Kingdom and Ireland, designed for use by researchers. These physical artefacts combine to represent all the key practices within screen history including the magic lantern, film, television and the digital present. They include magic lanterns and slides, optical toys, film production equipment, television and video equipment, cinema equipment and fittings, artwork for animation, sets and costumes, sound technology, toys and games and documentation such as photographs, scripts, sheet music and personal papers. The database covers national and regional archives as well stockshot libraries and collections held by local authorities, museums, institutions of further and higher education, industrial companies and private individuals.
Each record has live e-mail and weblinks, and the data is regularly updated by the BUFVC’s Information Service.

TRILT is the most comprehensive online listings of television and radio programmes on all major channels receivable in the UK, including regional variations. Listings data is available several days in advance of transmission and will build up as an archive of programme information, going back to 1995. Selected programmes of value to HE/FE are enhanced and there are weblinks and indications of sources of post-transmission videotapes, including the BUFVC’s off-air recording backup service. BUFVC members can now use it to order their off-air requests dependent on their individual entitlement options.

Previously known as Omni, this is an essential gateway to academic and related web-sites on all aspects of medicine including bio-medical research. NB Intute closed in July 2011 and the site has now been archived. No further resources are being added and no changes are being made to existing content, so the resource will increasingly become less useful and reliable.
