    A collection of films aimed to raise awareness of girls’ and women’s health, rights and wellbeing worldwide. There are four documentaries and ten short films, all accessible for free; also learning materials, including articles and facts. Why Women? is an initiative of The Why Foundation, which is a non-profit organisation that produces and distributes factual public media projects to promote independent information on key global issues. Other documentary series produced so far include: Why Democracy and Why Poverty.

    The official Kew Gardens YouTube channel includes a selection of short films, which offer a unique insight into the scientific research and global conservation taking place there. Beyond the Gardens includes ten films tackling themes such as The Future of Taxonomy, The Plant Family Tree and The Fungarium; Plant Kingdom consists of 35 films, including the first known instance of a cricket as an orchid pollinator captured on film by a Kew scientist; and the 15 shorts in Inside the Millennium Seed Bank, focus on global plants which are faced with the threat of extinction.

    A selection of documentaries from the Royal Anthropological Institute’s Film Catalogue is available to rent online. Titles are added on a rolling basis and the rental film allows you to stream a film for 72 hours. Titles available include classics such as John Baily’s AMIR and David & Judith MacDougall’s TURKANA CONVERSATIONS trilogy (LORANG’S WAY, A WIFE AMONG WIVES and THE WEDDING CAMELS). All the films featured have trailers, which can be watched for free.

    This freely available resource presents the materials and documentation associated with Siobhan Davies’ choreographies as a single online collection. Of particular interest are digitised videos of the filmed records of choreographies in rehearsal and in the studio. The search function allows the user to filter by media, (still, moving image, audio etc.), dance work, dance artist, musician and designer. The resource is the result of a collaboration between Coventry University and Siobhan Davies Dance which was funded by the AHRC. All the moving image content is streamed in flash video format

    List of documentary and drama films chosen for their potential use in teaching and exploring aspects of biomedical ethics. The films are arranged according to a variety of topics from Abortion to Xenotransplantation: other subjects include Cloning, Eugenics, Embryology and Organ Trafficking. Information about each film is limited to year and country of production, duration and production company. The aspects of the film most pertinent to the subject are highlighted in a summary. There is no moving image content but some of the records provide links to other sites. The site is hosted by the Scottish Council on Human Bioethics.
