- Summary
- COI synopsis: This programme looks at the work of the unsung heroes, who, through their skill, have already made flying the most popular form of transport around the world - a tribute to their achievement in air safety. A helicopter takes off to rescue a man lost at sea on a dark night. Our eyes only see light, but a special camera slung beneath the helicopter sees heat. A computer synchronises the movements: everywhere the pilot looks, the camera follows. Night becomes day as invisible waves are turned into pictures on a tiny TV screen on the pilot’s helmet.
