Summary
COI synopsis: Water. It rolls from sea to sky, sky to land, land to sea. We’re walking columns of the stuff; part of the same timeless cycle. This programme examines the cycle and the problems it presents for man. London is in constant danger of flooding. Atmospheric depressions in the North Sea suck up great bulges of water which could surge up the Thames estuary. It can be in position in just 15 minutes after a flood alert from the Met Office, who monitor the state of every tide.
