Summary
The March of Time synopsis: The conflict in Spain, significant to the public as a phase in the struggle between Fascism and Communism, is shown by the "March of Time" in an episode entitled "Rehearsal for War", to be valuable to military strategists as a practical laboratory for testing the tactics and equipment of future wars. For years most expert opinion has held that the next war would be one of quick annihilation, but the war in Spain is rapidly disproving this theory. Assuring to the public are the conclusions drawn by two keen students of military science who declare that the Fascist method of quick overwhelming attack is useless against adequate defence. The film pictures the vivid scenes of terror and destruction during the air raids on Madrid, photographed by the "March of Time" cameraman Capa, and some candid studies of General Francisco Franco, the Fascist Commander, and General Jose Maija, famed defender of Madrid.
