Summary
The March of Time synopsis: An episode in the new issue of the "March of Time", "Youth in Camps", tells the story of a new and revolutionary experiment in summer camping which this year has emerged successfully from its trial stages, and may prove itself a powerful factor in child education.
Supplementing in outdoor life which the progressice education movement seeks to accomplish in the classroom, it is an experiment in sharpening the initiative of youngsters by a veteran camp director, Dr. Lloyd Burgess Sharp. Of particular interest are the sequences devoted to the underprivileged children from the slums experiencing their first contact with nature. The "March of Time" points out that this new and important social venture has already caught the attention of American educators and recreation directors, under whose care this year alone were three million boys and girls.
