- Rhodesian Spotlight synopsis: A group of financial editors from London visit the Copperbelt and Wankie Colliery.
Rhodesian Spotlight Commentary - Arriving at Nkana on a tour of the Copperbelt, is a group of financial editors on London’s leading papers. Invited with a view to encouraging overseas investment in the Federation, this high powered force of editors represents such papers as the London Times, the Financial Times, the Daily Mail and the Telegraph.
Visiting Nchanga they got first hand information on the production of Copper and were particularly interested in watching the smelting and later the pouring. Though this was their first visit, they have of course been writing about Copper production for years. They were impressed by the developments that Copper has brought about in the Federation.
Their general impressions of the Federation were favourable, and in addition to the Copperbelt they visited Wankie Colliery. The verdict of these shrewd judges was satisfactory. - Keywords
