Summary
BFI Summary - development of a new source of iron ore at Blisworth and increasing the furnace capacity at Scunthorpe
NFA synopsis: August 1953 - Test drilling finds iron ore at Redbourn, Scunthorpe and Blisworth, Northants. sites. A giant excavator is sent in from Irthlingborough, the second largest in the world. A 3000 acre site is involved, and there are shots of machinery being changed at the Redbourn works, Scunthorpe. Various other developments at Redbourn are also covered, with various shots of the works.
