Summary
BFI Summary - Civil engineering works in progress at oil refineries.
BFI synopsis: Civil engineering works in the form of heavily reinforced concrete foundations and structures are depicted at Stanlow, in Cheshire where the Platformer Unit and a number of other important works for the former Shell Refining and Marketing Company Limited are shown, and also the Hydro-De-sulphurisation Unit for the Lummus Company. Then to Shellhaven, in Essex, where work of a similar nature is taking place. At nearby Thameshaven we see the work of filling in water-filled fleets, or pinds, and the construction of 36 tank bases which range in size up to 150 feet in diameter.
